Comments

  • "...first round and progressed through five rounds..." quick repeat of round, not sure if it's possible to avoid it though, but ideally it would be. - Reworded
  • It is interesting, at least to me, that Cardiff had to beat Darlington at the third time of asking in the first round, worth noting in the lead? - Added
  • I also usually note how many people were watching the final too. - Added
  • I wonder if List of FA Cup Finals is a better link in the lead as that page lists all the finalists, while the FA Cup Final page is sparse and not that relevant to the point being made here. - Added
  • After the first full usage, you drop to "United" in their qualification section, but in the lead you use "Sheffield United" in full every time. - Fixed
  • I can't see where you said United's home ground actually was? - Added
  • " United’s next match they travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Second Division " first thing: ypu didn't mention what level United were playing at in the league, and secondly it's worth noting that this was a neutral venue in the prose. - Added
  • "temporarily suspended for ten minutes" for ten minutes implies temporary, right? - Fixed
  • "seen. [...] he" is that your reading of MOS:ELLIPSIS? Removed brackets
  • "last side team" pick one. - Fixed
  • Why is Queen's Park piped to Queens Park? - Fixes
  • "three times previously.[20]" link 'em. - Added
  • "capallilites" typo. - Fixed
  • Link jargon, like corner kick, penalty, penalty area, header, inside-forward, offside, free-kick etc - Added
  • "Len Davies, who had recovered from injury, largely due to his physical prowess" whose prowess?? - Reworded
  • "an injury doubt ahead of the tie after injuring" remove first "injury". - Removed
  • "onto the roof of a taxi only to fall through the canvas roof of the vehicle and suffered ..." -> "onto the canvas roof of a taxi only to fall through and suffer ..." - Fixed
  • Three "deemed" here, maybe switch one to an alt? - Done
  • Charles Sutcliffe. overlinked. - Fixed
  • "Duke and Duchess of York" suitable link here. - Added
  • " G.N. Watson from Nottinghamshire" normally space between initials these days and was he from Nottinghamshire or did he represent "Nottinghamshire County Football Association" (per the infobox)? - Fixed
  • "Cardiff half.[23] Cardiff's " repetitive. - Reworded
  • " his own penalty area." which "his"?? - Reworded
  • "eight yards" convert. - Added
  • Harry Beadles is over linked. - Fixed
  • "practically unhampered". ref direct quotes directly. - Added
  • "15 minutes into" avoid starting sentences with a number. - Reworded
  • "shot towards the Cardiff goal but Nelson was able to block the shot" repetitive, perhaps just "shot towards the Cardiff goal which Nelson blocked" - Done
  • Positions of this archaic nature need a key. - Added
  • "the team's had " no apostrophe needed. - Fixed
  • "W.H. Petherbridge" spaced initials. - Fixed
  • "Sheffield dressing room to offer his congratulations to the side" -> "Sheffield dressing room to offer them his congratulations" - Done
  • "Since their victory in 1925, Sheffield ..." needs some sort of {{as of}} here. - Added
  • "A tape of the" a recording? - Fixed
  • "shown on the evening of the final." where was it shown?
The source doesn't mention where unfortunately. Kosack (talk) 18:47, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • " that chis one" typo. - Fixed
  • "his teammate Fred Keenor" etc, no need to repeat first names if surnames are Unambiguous. - Removed
  • "the 1927 final, but missed the game after suffering kidney damage in a league match prior to the final" repeats "the final" too quickly. - Reworded
  • We seem to have adopted RSSSF as the common name nowadays. - Fixed
  • Convert those ISBNs to modern ones using the ISBN.org website. - Done

That's it for a first pass, so I'm putting it on hold. Cheers. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 15:06, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review The Rambling Man. I think I've addressed everything here. Let me know what you think. Kosack (talk) 18:47, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Great, all sorted. I think it might be nice to have Tunstall's image in there if possible? But that's your call. I'm promoting in any case as that's not part of the GA criteria. Good work. The Rambling Man (Stay indoors, stay safe!!!!) 11:06, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
